What is asexual reproduction?
Asexual reproduction is when only one parent is involved.
What is sexual reproduction?
Sexual preproduction is the fusion of two gametes.
What is a gamete?
A gamete is haploid cells that can fuse together.
What is the receptacle?
The receptacle forms the base of, and supports, the flower.
What is the sepal?
The sepal is the part of the flower which protects the flower when it is a bud.
What is the petal?
The petal is the part of the flower which attracts animals to it.
What is the stamen?
The stamen consists of the anther and the filament, it’s the male part of the flower.
What is the filament?
The filament is the part of the flower which supports the flower.
What is the anther?
The anther is the part of the flower which produces pollen grains.
What is the carpel?
The carpel is the part of the flower which contains the stigma, style and ovary. This is the female part of the flower.
What is the stigma?
The stigma is the part of the flower which is sticky and pollen lands here.
What is the style?
The style is the part of the flower in which the pollen tube grows (through the style).
What is the ovary?
The ovary is the part of the flower which contains one or more ovules.

- Tapetum - provides nutrients to pollen.
- Fibrous layer - for protection
- Epidermis - for protection.
