Definition

A

A rare systemic illness characterised by necrotising inflammation of medium-sized arteries leading to aneurysm formation.
Principally affects viscera, and may lead to organ infarction if left untreated

Clinical Features

A

Fever
Weight loss
Malaise
GI upset
Vasculitic rash
Renal, pulmonary and CVS involvement may also occur
Peripheral neuropathy may also occu, due to involvement of the vasa nervorum

Histological analysis of affected organs

Coeliac axis or renal arteriograms (beading pattern of microaneurysms)
