ཉམས་སུ་བླངས་པ་
nyams su blangs pa
vt. to practice, to gain experience in; literally: “to take into experience”. This is the past tense of this verb.
ཅི་ཙམ་ཞིག་
ci tsam zhig
This is the interrogative pronoun ཅི་ modified by ཙམ་ and ཞིག་: “What kind of thing?”, “What does it/do they look like?”, “What do they amount to?”
འཁོར་བ་ཡི་ཉེས་དམིགས་

in general སྤྱིར means “general” (the opposite of particular). Here, it is marked by a ལ་དོན་, so we get the meaning “in general”. This is a very common expression.
ཞལ་
zhal

སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཞལ་ནས་ཀྱང་
sangs rgyas kyi zhal nas kyang
This introduces a quotation. Literally it says, “Also, from the mouth of the Buddha”, meaning that what follows has been said by the Buddha. Usually such quotations are given to support the author’s thesis with authoritative scripture.
དགེ་སློང་དག་

n. monk (Skt. bhikṣu). Note that it is followed here by a plural particle. This is the way in which the Buddha usually addresses
his monks.
