Q

Rum

A

A distilled alcoholic beverage made from sugarcane, sugarcane juices, or byproducts such as molasses. Rum has played an important part in the history of the caribbean and each island typically has a traditional style. English speaking islands and countries typically distill darker rums that retain some of the molasses flavor. French speaking islands produce agricultural rums(rhum agricole) which is made from cane juice. Spanish speaking islands traditionally produce anejo (aged) rums. Although traditionally rum was made in the caribbean, many other countries produce rum and rum like products.
