Acute non-inflammatory encephalopathy with an altered LOC

Hepatic dysfunction with a liver biopsy showing fatty metamorphosis or a more than 3-fold increase in ALT, AST, and/or ammonia levels

No other explanations for cerebral edema or hepatic abnormality

CSF with WBC 8/mm³

Brain Biopsy showing cerebral edema without inflammation
