What is anaphylaxis?
A
A severe, generalised hypersensitivity reaction

What is the process that causes anaphylaxis?
A
- The allergen triggers the production of IgE antibodies
- IgE antibodies bind to mast cells
- Histamine is release with increases permeability and distention of capillaries

A
An itchy, raised rash
stomach pain
angiodema

What should be given as an emergency treatment of anaphylaxis?
A
Epinephrine or adrenaline IM

Chlorphenamine - antihistamine

salbutamol - bronchospasm
