What is aortic stenosis?
The obstruction of blood flow through the aortic valve
What the most common cause of aortic stenosis?
calcification
What is calcification?
the hardening of tissue by the deposition of or conversion into calcium compounds
What are the 3 symptoms of aortic stenosis?
Syncope
Angina
Dyspnoea
Why may aortic stenosis patients complain of bruising?

narrow pulse pressure
slow rising pulse
What are 3 signs of aortic stenosis in terms of what can be heard?
Fourth heart sound
soft s2
ejection systolic murmur
What can occur within the left ventricle due to aortic stenosis?
Left ventricular hypertrophy
What does left ventricular hypertrophy look like on an ECG?
Deep S-waves in V1 and V2
tall R-waves in V5 and V6
