Q

How does Tricuspid valve stenosis cause JVD?

A

The valve that separates the right atrium and the right ventricle of the heart stiffens. This results in blood backing up in the veins.

Q

How does Constrictive pericarditis cause JVD?

A

If the pericardium becomes stiff, it can prevent the heart chambers from filling up with blood properly. This can cause the blood to back up in the veins.

Q

How does Cardiac tamponade cause JVD?

A

the pericardium fills up with fluid the heart cannot fill with blood properly. This can cause the blood to back up in the veins.

Q

How does right side heart failure cause JVD?

A

the right ventricle weakens. This failure causes the veins to bulge as blood accumulates.

Q

How does left side heart failure lead to right side heart failure, especially the right ventricle?

A

left ventricle failure means blood accumulates in the lungs so the right ventricle has to work harder until it weakens. This failure causes the veins to bulge as blood accumulates.
