when do you reference?
when describing or discussing a theory, perspevtive, argument or fact of someone else’s
when you’ve put in to your own words what another source has already stated
if you’ve used a quote, fact, statistic or table that is not your own

abstract

discussion

appendices
what is an abstract?
a 100 word summary of your research
should include the aim, sample details, research design and procedure, results, conclusions
what should an introduction include?
an explanation of the area you are researching, previous research in this area, your aim and hypotheses
what should a method include?
design, participants, materials, procedure
what should the results section include?
statistical analysis of data, eg descriptive statistics (usually displayed in a table or graph) and inferential statistics

what should the discussion include?
conclusions from results, how do conclusions relate to intro’s theories, issues in your research, implications for future research
what should the appendices section include?
any materials you have used, eg consent forms, testing materials, debrief form
what are peer reviews?
involves a paper being evaluated by experts in that field to ensure the research is high quality and accurately presented
this prevents poor or inaccurate research being published and affecting future research
