how to test for rabies
no test for live animals, fluorescent Ab test in neurotissue (post-mortum brain/spinal tissue samples), histology (using microscope to look at negri bodies in brain tissue: stained clumps of viruses)
what age rabies vaccine is given
3 months at least (old enough to mount an immune response)
what is Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) for rabies
dose of hyperimmune serum (antibodies) and a vaccine series
