Q

Pharmacist Prescribing Authority

A

N/A - Can Only Recommend OTC; Not Prescribe in Most States. States can also have standing orders or you can prescribe certain things under point-of-care CPAs. This allows you to prescribe only certain things, like Tamiflu for Influenza. In IA this is problematic if you serve a lot of doctors offices because you need a CPA for each one.

Prescribing Authority By States CII-CV:
* MA: Institutional Prescribing Only (No Retail)
* CA, NC, WA: Prescribe Only
* NM: Administer & Prescribe
* OH: Adminster, Dispense, & Prescribe
* UT: Prescribe Only (CPA)
