Q

What occurs in SIADH and why? (2)

A
  • Increased ADH leads to increased water retention, sodium follows. Since water is in excess to sodium it’s called DILUTED HYPONATREMIA
  • increased blood vol suppresses renin secretion & RAAS leading to less aldosterone and impaired sodium resorption
