What is blood doping?

A

Blood doping is a banned substance - not a banned drug. Blood doping involves boosting the number pf red blood cells in the bloodstream in order to improve your performance. Because red blood cells carry oxygen to the muscles having a higher concentration of these can improve your VO2 max and increase your endurance.
