Q

what are the strages of PCR

A
  • heated to 95
    • break H-bonds
    • DNA polymerase doesnt denature
  • mixture cooled to between 50 and 65
    • so the primers can bind (anneal) to the strands
  • heated to 72
    • so DNA polymerase can work
  • DNA polymerase lines up free DAN nucleotides alongisde each temp;late strand
    • complementary base pairing means new complementary strands are formed
  • wo new copies are formed and one cycle of PCR is complete
  • repeat, all 4 strands used as templates
