  • May combine w/ Carbidopa (Sinemet)
  • Goal is the lowest dose; It is the most effective, but has serious adverse effects (dystonia), so start at lowest dose and if side effects occur, change to another med
  • DON’T terminate abruptly
  • Teach Pt, therapeutic effect occurs in 1-4 weeks
