- Used for surgery on lower abdomen, inguinal and lower extremities
- Used for patients with respiratory, hepatic or kidney dz
- Positioned as semi-Fowler’s to prevent diaphragmatic paralysis and respiratory depression

- Used for skin and tissue pain like poison ivy dermatitis
- Throat Lozenges
- Sunburn/Itching
- May be administered with epinephrine as a vasoconstrictor to limit blood loss at surgical site and to prolong anesthesia duration

Nursing Concerns:
A
Never apply epinephrine to Finger, Toe, Penis, Ear, and Nose sites to avoid possible necrosis
