Learning Meds dosage
What is the dosage for Midazolam
IV - Dilute 2ml with 8ml of saline (5mg midaz for an adult)
IM - Draw up undiluted preferred site lateral thigh, if this is not suitable the lateral upper arm can be used (10mg Midaz for an adult)
What is the dosage for Adrenaline
Topical - dilute each mg with 9ml of saline
IN - dilute each mg with 9ml of saline
Nebulised - undilute 1 mg
IM - undiluted 0.5 mg
Cardiac arrest: For adults who’s weigh has been rounded up to 50kg 1mg undiluted IV
For children for 40kg or less dilute 1mg to 1:10,000 draw up 1 ml dose from this and administer IV

300mg
What is the dose for Cefriaxone
IV - 2g for adult
IM - 2g

What is the Dosage for GTN
Mycocardial ischemia 0.4mg every 5 mins Consider increasing dose to ever 10 mins if there is a caution present.
STEMI 0.4mg WITH CAUTION
CPO 0.8mg every 5 mins, consider increasing time to every 10 mins if caution is present and consider increasing dose frequency if patient is not imporving
Control of hypertention - 0.4mg every 5 mins

600 mg for adult weighing more than 80kg
400 mg for adults weighing 80kg or less
What is the dosage for Ipratropium
0.5mg administered Nebulized

10mg for anyone older than 12
5mg for ages 1-11

Max of 6ml 2 doses for ages greater than 12

8mg IV once for adult
4mg IM for adult (this may be repeated once after 20mins if required) Perfered site if lateral thigh but can be administered in the upper lateral arm

1.5 g for adult weighing greater than 80kg
1g for adults weighing 80kg or less
What is the dosage for Salbutomal
MDI - 1 puff and spacer followed by 6 breaths
Nebulized for COPD - 5mg
Nebulized for release syndrome - 5mg

IM - 1mg for adult equal or older than 5
IM - 0.5 for child less than 5

Add 4 ml of sodium chloride draw up and dilute to a total of 10 ml administer IV over 1-2 mins Pref into a running line

Draw up and dilute to 10 ml, Administer into running line preferably over 1-2 mins
IM administration add 4 ml of saline in.
Draw up using 2 syringes having half in each

300mg if age less than 75
75mg if pt is over 75

Analgesia 1.25mg IV for adult 1 time only
For acute behavioural disturbance
10mg IV or IM (repeated once after 20 mins)

2.5mg IV/IM/SC (repeated as required)
Nausea: 0.625mg IV/IM once only

0.25mg/kg IV to a max of 25mg for adult over 15 mins retreat as required
IM 0.5mg/kg up to max of 50mg repeat 1 time after 20 mins if required
What is the dose for labetalol
10-20mg IV every 5 mins
Draw up into a 20 or 30ml syringe and administer as bolus
What is the dose for levetiracetam
2g iv for adult repeated once if siezure continues 10 mins after first dose
Draw up required dose and make up to 20-40ml using saline administer IV over 5 mins pref into a running line
What is the dose for lignocaine
Subcut max 200mg
Repeat once after 30mins
IO:50mg (5ml) for adult
