Heamo Shock Flashcards
What is the cellualr patho is shock
This is where there is an imblance between Oxygen and glucose. Lack of ethier of these can impair the cells ability to metabolise causing a switch between aerobic to anerobic
Where do the cells make energy and how?
This process happens in the mitochondria
Stage 1 is glucose being converted to Pyruvic acid by the process of glycolisis and MAKES 2 ATP
Stage 2: pyruvic acid undergoes oxidation coa the krebs cycle
This process requires oxygen and CREATES 36 ATP and CO2 and H20 as by products
What is the down side of Anaerobic Metabolism
This is where the demand for Oxygen is greater than the supply.
It does not require Oxygen however only produced 2 usable ATP and had a by product of lactic acid build up
What is MAP & why is it so important
MAP (mean arterial pressure) is the average arterial pressure throughout the body
It is considered the most accurate measure of perfusion
What is the HPA Axis
What are the ways u can lose fluids
What is our treatment plan for bleeding
what is our clotting mechanisms
what does TXA do
What are our considerations for IV fluid administration
what is permissive hypotention
whats our managemt for non traumatic bleeding
What is our management for fluid loss from hypovolemia
