Nucleons, cell bodies, dendrites, axon, axon terminals
What does the nervous system split into?
The CNS, and the PNS
What is the CNS?
Brain and spinal chord
What is the PNS?
All the branches off of the CNS
What does the PNS split into?
Somatic and Autonomic nervous system
What is the somatic nervous system?
They help you do things that are part of your conscious control
What is the autonomic nervous system?
Things not under conscious control
What does the autonomic split into?
Sympathetic and parasympathetic
What is the sympathetic nervous system?
It makes things dilate, increase and grow larger to help maintain homeostasis
What is the parasympathetic nervous system?
It makes things return to normal or grow smaller to help maintain homeostasis
Parts of the brain
Cerebrum, cerebellum, medulla/brain stem
Cerebrum
Large top part of brain where you think and where memories are stored
Cerebellum
It processes sensory information from outside your body
