What is a Type 1 MI caused by?
Atherosclerotic plaque disruption or acute coronary thrombosis
What is the most common type of MI and usually manifests as an STEMI?
Type 1 MI
What is a type 2 MI?
MI secondary to an oxygen supply/demand mismatch
What is a Type 3 MI?
MI resulting in death when bio markers are unavailable
What is a Type 4 MI?

MI related to PCI

What is a Type 4a MI
MI < or = to 48hrs post PCI
What is a Type 4b MI
MI related to stent thrombosis
What is a Type 4c MI
MI associated with restenosis post PCI
What is a Type 5 MI
MI relating to Coronary artery bypass grafting
Treatment of an MI consists of what 3 things?
Revascularization via PCI, antiplatelet and anti coagulation therapy, and MONA-BASH
What anti-platelet therapy drugs are used?
-Doses?
Aspirin: loading dose 162-325mg
PLUS ADP receptor inhibitor (clopidogrel)
What anticoagulation drug is used to treat MI?
LMWH
What does MONA-BASH stand for?
Morphine, Oxygen, Nitro, Antiplatelet drugs, Beta blockers, ACEI’s, Statins, Heparin
