What defines ACS?
Suspicion or presentation of acute myocardial ischemia
What’s the classical presentation of ACS?
Additional symptoms?
Retrosternal chest pain that radiates
Additional: dyspnea, pallor, nausea, vomiting, diaphoresis, dizziness, syncope
Are symptoms relieved by nitrates with ACS?
No.
What’s the immediate management of ACS?
Obtain 12 lead, establish IV access, measure troponin, give 162-325 mg aspirin PO once if no contraindications
Diagnostics of ACS? (What would you order to be done)
12 lead, lab studies, gather cardiac bio markers, and get a TTE
What lab studies would you order for ACS?
CBC, BMP, and coagulation panel
STEMI and NSTEMI are associated with ACS true or false?
