Muscular System Flashcards
Skeletal muscle(striated muscle)
It can be found attached to bones(voluntary control).
Smooth muscle(not striated)
Found all throughout the body(. Not usually under voluntary control) found in internal organs and blood vessels
Cardiac muscle
It makes up most of the hearts.(not usually under voluntary control) only found in heart(striated).
Myosin(thick filaments)
Tightly packed filament bundles that fill skeletal muscle cells(fibers)
Actin(thin filaments)
Thin filaments of protein which also fill skeletal muscles(fibers)
Sarcomere
Two Z lines and the filaments between them make up the unit
Sliding filament model
