- plantar flexors
- invertors
- evertors
2

A
dorsiflex and plantarflex
4
Q

A
inversion and eversion of foot
5
Q

A
flex and extend
6
Q

A
plantarflex foot
7
Q
superficial Posterior compartment of leg muscles (3)?
A
- gastrocnemius
- soleus
- plantaris
8
Q
Gastrocnemius?
- what is it?
- arises by?
- passes down?
- crosses?
- function?
A
- calf of the leg
- arises by two heads, one from each condyle of the femur
- passes down behind the tibia to be inserted into the calcaneus by thecalcanean tendon(Achilles tendon)
- crosses both knee and ankle joints, causing flexion at the knee and plantarflexion (rising onto the ball of the foot) at the ankle
9
Q
Soleus?
- what is it
- location
- originates
- joins
- movement
- function
A
- one of the main muscles of the calf of the leg
- lying immediately deep to the gastrocnemius
- originates from the heads and upper parts of the fibula and the tibia
- joins gastrocnemius so that they have a common insertion into the calcaneus by the calcanean (Achilles) tendon
- plantarflexion at the ankle
- helps to stabilise the joint when standing
10
Q
deep posterior leg muscles? (4)
A
- Popliteus
- Flexor digitorum longus
- Flexor hallucis longus
- Tibilialis posterior
11
Q
anterior leg extensors function?
A
mainly extend toes and dorsiflex foot
12
Q
anterior leg extensor muscles?
A
- tibialis anterior
- extenson digitorum
- extenson hallucis longus
13
Q
lateral compartment of leg (2)?
A
- fibularis (peroneus) longus
2. fibularis (peroneus brevis
14
Q
Fibularis (peroneus) longus?
A
to first metatarsal and cuneiform
15
Q
Fibularis (peroneus) brevis?
A
to 5th metatarsal
