Definition
A
Meniscus cartilage between bones of the knee and act to protect bones during movement.
Discoid meniscus is thicker and is disc shaped -> more prone to injury.

Signs and symptoms
A
- Pain
- Stiffness or swelling
- Popping or locking of the knee
- Feeling that the knee is giving way
- Inability to fully extend the knee

Clinical examination
MRI - abnormal shape of discoid meniscus and also shows tears

Treatment
A
Surgical - knee arthroscopy
