What do we have to when we find info for our classes?
We must put them into the form directed by the type of assignment we’ve been given
What are some examples of tech misuse?
Slides read to students, presentations that aren’t the best way to communicate, slides that move too fast or too slow or don’t have any meaningful order, and too many features (animations, colors, etc.)
Is it always appropriate to read a paper to an audience?
Sometimes, other times you’ll have to read from notes
When would a presentation be more effective?
When you have images to show that will enhance the audience’s understanding of your message
Why is only showing a video not a presentation?
Because a presentation involves talking, not just showing a video
Should you ever use images in a presentation?
Usually, no, unless it can be used to help your audience understand your message, and if you do, don’t describe it in narrative form
What are ways you can use tech to make new info that will help make your case and what must you remember when doing so?
Making images, writing surveys, and creating web pages
Remember to think about what you are trying to do with the information to make it work well

Remember to make sure your audience understand your information
What are some important things to note?
There are many different brands of software, listing software here doesn’t mean we endorse it, yet if software is listed here, it is widely used, “Industry software” stands for software that is widely used in an industry
What is Adobe Photoshop CC? (Creative Cloud)
Software that can create and enhance photos, images, etc., create using multiple layers and many color formats, has more functionality than Photoshop Elements and meant for pro graphic designers, for PC and MAC
What is Adobe Photoshop Elements?
Consumer version of full Photoshop, meant for beginners and/or just starting out in editing images, more user-friendly, very affordable stand-alone software, for PC and MAC
What is GIMP?
Free, open-source software from web, for image-editing and creation, for PC and MAC
What is IrfanView?
Proprietary software free for personal use, allows you to convert, view, and edit images, only for PC
What is the difference between open-source and proprietary software?
Open-source is free, proprietary means you have to buy a license
