Motivation-definition
The combination of the drive from within us to achieve our aims and the outside factors which affect it.
Intrinsic motivation
Motivation from within, a desire to perform well and succeed.

Example of smarter goal setting
Agreeing with a coach that within the next month you will pick up 10 wickets in your next 5 matches
Extrinsic motivation
Motivation that comes from an outside source and is used to encourage the performer
Tangible rewards
Physical rewards. E.G money or a medal. These should be used rarely and are often used at younger ages
Intangible rewards
Not physical objects. E.G praise and recognition. These should be used on a regular basis to encourage the athletes to continue to perform at a high level
