Explain Autocratic and task orientated style of leadership.

A

Autocratic - leader makes the decisions
Task orientated - concern of the leader is to get results and reach targets.
Coach ,makes the plan on how to win the game and players follow it.
Coach must be present with this style of leadership at all times because players tend to switch off when left on own.

Explain Democratic and person orientated style of leadership?

A

Democratic - coach seeks the opinion of the players and makes a decision based on thier suggestions.
person orientated style- concerned with interpersonal relationships. Seek opinions of senior players and makes a plan with them in the expectation of a win.
Players will usually continue to work on own with this style of leadership.

Explain Laissez-faire style of leadership?

A

Laissez-faire - leader does very little. leaves the group to it. Coach will tell the players what he wants and will leave them to do it in a training session whilst he goes off and conducts soem other business. Their is a danger that the less motivated will stop working if left alone.

A

According to Fieldler the situation influences the leadership style. Fieldler refers to a situation
When everthing is good - as a favourable situation
When everything is bad - as a least favourable situation
When the situation is between good and bad - as a moderately favourable situation.
