Sonographer’s Role
1) interpreting the requisition for the exam ordered
2) what does the clinic info. from the referring physician mean?
3) what is the question being asked?
4) writing your technical preliminary findings after exam
5) correct punctuation and spelling is important
* the physician then uses ALL of this info. to create a final report

-creation of an opening (stoma) from the bowel to the outside of the body
Tracheotomy
- surgical procedure that creates an opening through the neck into the trachea (windpipe)
- tube is referred to as a tracheostomy tube

- treatment for cancer using a chemotherapeutic agent
- may be curative or palliative
