What is the appearance of FNH?
- Central scar containing a large artery and radiating
Diagnosing FNH?
- US (Nodule with varying echogenicity)
- CT (Hypervacular mass with central scar)
What is hepatic adenoma?
- benign neoplasm composed of normal hepatocytes
- no portal tract, central veins or bile ducts
What is associated lesion with contraceptives?
- Hepatic adenoma
What are consequences of hepatic adenoma?
- benign
- may rupture, haemorrhage or malignant transformation (males)
Hepatic adenoma diagnosis?
- US: filling defect
- MRI: Diffuse arterial enhancement
Treatment of hepatic adenoma in males?
- surgical excision no matter the size
Treatment of hepatic adenoma in females?
- > 5cm –> surgical excision
Define a simple cyst
- liquid collection lined by epithelium
Echinococcus granulosus?
- hydatid cyst
Treatment of plycystic liver disease?
- reduce growth
- invasive treatment may be required
- benign

- acute liver failure
What test is specific for HCC?
- AFP
- will be >100ng/ml –> HCC
Management of HCC?
- Resection
- liver transplant
- radio frequency ablation
