- epigastric/diffuse abdominal pain

- US (gallstones?)
- imaging
What are the symptoms of perforation?
- pain dependant on site of perforation
- may be localised or generalised
What clinical investigations should be conducted for suspected perforation?
- erect CXR (Free subphrenic gas)
- CT
What are the symptoms for appendicitis?
- central abdominal pain, later localising in RIF
What are the investigations for appendicitis?
- ultrasound
What are the symptoms of diverticulitis?
- lower abdominal pain, classically LIF
- Associated with diarrhoea +/- PR bleeding
What investigations should be conducted into diverticulitis?
- CT
- PR exam
Bowel source suspected distended abdomen should be investigated by what?
- AXR
- Dilated bowel loops
Fluid source suspected distended abdomen should be investigated by what?
- ultrasound
Investigation for haematemesis?
- endoscopy
- biopsy if required
- IV contrast, angiography intervention
Investigations into dysphagia?
- endoscopy
- barium swallow
