LESSON 5 PART 2 (PART 1) Flashcards
what are the 3 phases of HMIS process?
Data Input, Data Management, Data output
generation and collection of data through input of standard coding formats (e.g., barcodes) to assist in the faster mechanical reading
and capturing of data.
Data Acquisition
preservation and archiving of data. Qualification of a good storage: During the data storage, (1) that data should not be altered, (2) it should not get lost, (3) it should be accessible only by people who are authorized to access it.
Data Storage
requires data manipulation and data transformation; allows data analysis, synthesis, and evaluation so that data can also be used for other tactical and operational use.
Data computation
data authentication and validation. Authority, validity, and reliability of the data sources help ensure quality of gathered data.
data verification
facilitates new and changing information and requires constant monitoring. Data maintenance must be set.
data update
data transfer and data distribution;
considers duration of transmittal of required data from
source to end-user.
data retrieval
reporting of the interpretation of
the info produced by the system. Summary tables and statistical reports are expected but use of visuals encouraged – esp. for high-level managerial decision- making (e.g., owner of the institution, chairman, president because they provide better intuitive perspective of the data trend.
data presentation
it is the specific set of functions where it is observed to distribute resources to areas that need them.
scheduling
one of the specific set of functions where all client info related to his transactions, reports, and others
client data
specific set of function where it notifies the patient charges and other related docs
billing
specific set of functions where it ensures that customers are properly notified about their bill and will settle it accordingly. Includes tracking aging of unpaid services, tracking reasons for denials, and aged receivable report by payer source.
Accounts receivable management
one of specific sets of functions where procedure that should be followed for the improvement of the condition of patient or service provided
compliance
aka electrical health record, specific set of functions
medical record
specific set of function where reports are issued by entity
