Lecture 23 - Neuroradiology Flashcards
Risks of of Gadolinum?
deposits in brain & bones
CT sign of stroke?
loss of grey & white matter discrimination
usefullness of contrast?
pathologies tend to have leaky vessels (stroke or tumour)
Epidural bleed?
traumatic collection of blood between inner skull and dura, middle meningeal artery, lentiform shape
Subdural bleed?
traumatic injury to veins between dura mater and arachnoid collecting in subdural space, screscent shape
Subarachnoid haemorrhage?
hypertension and aneurysm of cerebral vessels
Tumours?
glioblastoma multiforme (most common, surrounding oedema), meningioma (from meninges, benign),
T1 MRI?
CSF hypointense, fat hyperintense (T2 opposite)
Colourful white matter screening?
DTI tractography, trace axon bundles
CTI vs MRI for screens?
CT: bone recon, angio; MRI: spine imaging; both: stroke
