learning practical Flashcards
research question
are females more likely to show pro-social behaviour than males
what does SLT suggest about learned behaviour
- it is learned through observation, retention, imitation, modelling, motivation (reinforcement )
how did we operationalise pro social behaviour
- people who helped to give directions to the shops when we asked them where the shops were
operationalised 1 tailed hypothesis
the number of people who helped to give directions to the shops will be significantly different between males and females
operationalised null hypothesis
there will be no significant difference between the number of males who helped to give directions to the shops and the number of females who helped to give directions to the shops when asked
sample method
opportunity sampling : whoever we saw in Stourbridge we asked (convenience)
how many participants in total were gathered
40
procedure
- In a group of 3
- All 3 of us (students) walked around Stourbridge, and when we walked past someone 1 of us (pre selected) asked the person if they knew the directions to Aldi (shop)
- whilst this was happening 1 student noted down qualitative data, about the participants tone, body language, eye contact, what they said in response
- the 3rd student tallied down whether the person gave directions or not, and whether they were male or female
- after the participant had left we discussed our findings with each other before moving onto the next participant

covert
naturalistic
