State the precise site of LDR
The light dependent reactions occur in the thylakoid membrane which is situated within the stroma of chloroplasts
Explain photolysis
It’s a chemical reaction on which organic molecules are broken down by photons. In this case with the LDR, water is broken down by light
State the term used to describe the production of ATP using light via LDR. Explain why it is given this name.
The process is called photophosphorylation and it involves the use of light energy in order to change ADP into ATP (makes phosphorylation occur)

ATP and NADP are useful products and the by-product is oxygen
State the term used to describe the process by which electrons move down the electron transport chain. Explain why this term is used
They move down the electron transport chain through oxidative phosphorylation and this term is used because as they pass down the electron transport chain via redox reactions electrons relseade small amounts of energy that causes phosphorylation of ADP into ATP
State the role of the three products used of the LDR
Oxygen is a waste product is released.
ATP and reduced NADP are used in the next process of photosynthesis called the light independent reaction to reduce GP and to regenerate RuBP
