Autoimmune inflammation of joints, without any other cause, lasting more than 6 weeks in a patient <16 years

What is systemic JIA also known as?
Still’s disease
What are the features of systemic JIA?
Salmon-pink rash
High fevers
Joint pain
What investigations are done for suspected systemic JIA?
ANA -ve
RF -ve
Raised
- CRP
- ESR
- platelets
- ferritin
What is a potential complication of systemic JIA?
Macrophage activation syndrome
What are features of macrophage activation syndrome?
DIC
Anaemia
Thrombocytopenia
Non-blanching rash
What is polyarticular JIA?
Idiopathic arthritis >/= 5 joints
What is oligoarticular JIA?
< 4 joints
What is oligoarticular JIA associated with?
Anterior uveitis
What is enthesitis related arthritis?
Inflammation at site where tendon inserts
Paeds version of spondyloarthropathies
What is a key feature of enthesitis related arthritis?
Tender to localised palpation of entheses
What are features of juvenile psoriatic arthiritis?
Psoriasis Nail pitting Onycholysis Dactylitis Enthesitis
