information processing Flashcards
what are the 7 parts to the info processing model and order
input
receptor systems
perceptual mechanisms
translatory mechnisms
effector mechnisms
muscular system
feedback
input
performer uses senses to pick up info from envirnoment
display-sporting environment
disaply holds info such as the crowd, the ball etc
selective attention
receptory systems
info picked up by scenses
scenses collectively known as receptor systems
Sight-flight of ball
Auditory-call from team mate or coach
Touch-feel of grip of racket
Balance-
Kinesthesis-feel of movement
perceptual mechanisms
process of coding and interpreting info from display supplied by senses
has 3 elements: DCR process
detection-selecting relevent info, selective attention
comparison-trying to match info as importnet already in mmeory of performer
recognition-used info from memory to identify appropriate response
translatory mechanisms
helps convert info so that decision can be made
effector mechanisms
network of nerves responsible for delivering the decisions made during the perceptual process to the muscles so that muscles can perform that action
muscular system
muscles recive info in form of coded impulses and once impluse recived, muscles contract and response can begin
feedback
used during or after repsonse to aid movement correction
