control of HR Flashcards
what is blood pressure and blood flow controlled by
vasomotor centre located in medualla oblagata
what happens to blood flow during exercise
changes in chemical changes detected by chemoreceptors (chnages in co2)
stimuluate vasomotor area which will redistibute blood through vasoconstriction or vasoc=dialtion
more oxygen needed to working msucles so vasocidlation will occur supplying working muscles
vasoconstriction will occur to non-essential organs such as liver, intestines
vasodilation
whe blood vessels widen to increase blood flow
vasoconstriction
when blood vessels narrow to decrease blood flow
what else is stimulated to increase or reduce blood flow
through stimulation of symaptheic nerves
when symaptehic stimualtion increase, vasoconstricion occcurs and blood flow reduces so it can be redistubted to other parts
symaptheic nevers decrease, vasodilation occurs and increse blood flow to that part
what else aids blood redistibution
pre-capillery splinters
contact, bllod flow is resticted though capillery
relax, blood flow increased in capillery
what is redistibution of vblood imporant for
suppplying oxygen to working muscles
removing waste products e.g c02 and lactic acid
