Reduces amount of people that breastfeed when it’s more accessible and discounted. Breastfeeding provides more benefit

Nestle good start, enfamil, similac advance
Similar to ensure for kids. Main parts are fat, carb, and protein. From cow milk, convert to protein similar to human milk
Why is iron-fortified misleading on formula
Makes people think other products lack protein, all contain at standard level
What is in lactose free formula
Milk sugar that has lactose removed. add sweetener so kid drinks
What is the reality of lactose deficiency
More likely to be milk protein allergy as lactase activity declines after 2 and symptoms would appear later.
But secondary lactase is common, have less lactase due to flu but will come back.
What is the benefit of vegetarian formula
Gets rid of cow aspect and is soy based. Manufacturing also makes it lactose free.
When do people introduce whole milk to child
At about 1 year, can switch to lower fat after 2.
Fat included is a neccessity

Although says 12-36 months barely a difference from 0-6. Commerical use to continue using
What is the benefit of thickened formula
Includes rice starch. has same consistency going down and thickens in stomach so less chance burping up
What do pharmacists do with GERD in babies
Is rare, need to recommend to MD
Spit up occurs from swallowing air, overeating, sensitivity to allergens through breast milk
What is different with formula with EFAs
Include omega 3 and 6 fatty acids
See A+ as being smarter, more expensive
Is there a benefit for probiotics in infants
Don’t know which provide benefit, and no research supporting addition. safe but not needed until older
