Sexual Differentiation

males: cause leydig cells of the testes to produce testosterone
Role of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)
Males: sertoli cells which release factors for sperm maturation

hormone made to protect corpus lutetium and is also the hormone detected when taking a pregnancy test
The phases of the period cycle
Follicular phase, ovulation, and the luteal phase
Role of progesterone
prevents loss of existing endometrium
Role of estrogen
encourages proliferation of the endometrium
