Hips/pelvis position
Neutral pelvis will correlate to a neutral spine
Monitor for hips/pelvis position
Hip hiking/hip translation: hip is pulled up towards the armpit creating an imbalance of the pelvis, in turn, the ASIS is not level
Look for over tucked or over arched hips/pelvis
Cueing for hips/pelvis position
Hinge forward at the hip joints not from the ribs or waist
Pull hip out of armpit to correct hip hiking
In supine, draw sit bone on high hip side to opposite ankle bone or heel
In side lying, draw hip out of armpit creating a “mouse house” under the waist, top leg is longer than the bottom leg
Maintain distance between hips or ribs - when doing footwork
Modifications for hips/pelvis position
Pad/pillow under sit bone, heel, waist as needed
