Breathing position
Posterior-Lateral Breath into the lower rib area
Monitor breathing
Chest/belly breathing
Holding/short breath
Noisy “Chhhh” breathing
Cueing for breathing
“Haa” breath to activate Trans. Abs.
Posterior-lateral breath into the lower rib area
Movement lasts as long as breath, which determines duration of the exercise
Breathe in thru nose and open the lower rib area allowing the “back” to open and spread out away from the spine
Inhale breathing into the back, ribs open to sides
Maintain Core connection during inhalation
Maintain abs pulled in/avoid “pooch”/pushing out of lower belly during inhalation
Modifications for breathing
Allow natural breathing while learning a complicated pattern etc. then add back in the breathing pattern
Cross train the breath (inhale vs exhale)
