- Important to note are Würzburg (Maindreieck) and Burgstadt (Mainviereck)
- Wurzberg is home to Stein – Wurzberger Stein (Stone) which produces Riesling and Silvaner. Stein-Harfe and Steinberg are GLs. Julisspital and Burgerspital are the two largest producers. Escherndofer Lump as GL for Silvaner and Riesling
- Burgstatdt – village for top Pinot – Rudolf Furst
- Franken is famous for its Bocksbeutel modelled after a Roman canteen

- The 4 southern Bereiche are for Spatburgunder; Kaiserstuhl the most famous with volcanic loess – steepest & warmest slopes – 2 best Einzellage – Achkarrer (Oh Cart!) Schlossberg and Ihringer Winklerberg.

- Sachsen& is moderated by the Elbe River Valley and has a unique grape called Goldriesling (Riesling x Courtiller Musque Precoce)
- Saale-Unstrut is the name of 2 rivers and both Anbaugebiete has Muller Thurgau as main planting.
