  • The most famous wine from Cyprus is Commandaria(amber color fortified wine), made with Xynisteri(White) and Mavro(Red) that is sun dried for 2 weeks
  • 14 regions permitted to make Commandaria
  • 4 main PGIs: Lanarka, Lemesos, Lefkosia and Pafos
  • Lemesos (Limassol) is the most famous with 3 PDOs inside: Pitsillia, Krasochoria and Lemesou.

  • Kalecik Karasi is a young easy drinking grape wine, Bogazkere means “throat puckerer” a high acid grape.
