    • Tears contain mucus antibodies, and lysozyme
  • Lacrimal glands are divided into two portions
    • A larger orbital portion
    • A smaller palperbreal portion (if the upper eyelid is everted; the palperbal portion can be seen)

  • Function: carries tears from the lacrimal sac into the nasal cavity
    • •Excess tears flow through the nasolacrimal duct which opens in the nose.
