Ethics
Definition: The study of what’s right and wrong, helping us make choices that improve us as people.
Moral Knowledge
Definition: Our natural sense of what’s right or wrong, often based on what we’ve learned from our culture or upbringing.
Freedom
Definition: The power to make choices that help us grow and improve, rather than just doing anything we want.
Good
Definition: Anything that helps a person become better or happier; the main goal of ethical decisions.
Moral Evil
Definition: Actions that harm or degrade us as people, usually by choosing short-term satisfaction over what’s best for us in the long run.
Natural Law
Definition: Basic rules about right and wrong that apply to everyone, like treating others with respect.
Conscience
Definition: The inner voice that helps us judge whether something is right or wrong based on what we know about good behavior.
Human Person
Definition: A way of describing humans as unique beings with special qualities like the ability to think, choose freely, and be aware of themselves.
Phenomenology of Freedom
Definition: The experience of knowing that we are in control of our actions and can make choices for ourselves.
Fundamental Goods
Definition: Important things like truth, kindness, and beauty that are valuable to everyone and help us live well.

Definition: Making ethical choices by thinking things through, rather than just acting on emotions or instincts.
Moral Law vs. Positive Law
Definition: Moral law is about universal ideas of right and wrong, while positive law is the rules made by a society, which can change over time.

Value
Definition: Qualities we admire, like honesty or kindness, that guide us in making good decisions.
