embryology Flashcards
What are the 5 parts of the primitive heart (superior to inferior)?
truncus arteriosus bulbus cordis primative ventricle primative atrium sinus venosis
What does the truncus arteriosus give rise to?
ascending aorta and the pulmonary trunk
What does the bulbus cordis give rise to?
distal bulbus cordus:
outflow tracts of ventricles
proximal bulbus cordis:
right ventricle
What does the primative ventricle give rise to?
left ventricle
What does the primative atrium give rise to?
rough parts of right and left atrium
What does the sinus venosus give rise to?
sinus venarum
What 3 structures make up the ventricular septum?
muscular portion:
- ventricle muscles
membranous:
- endocardial cushions
- trunco-conal septum
What makes up the floor of the fossa ovalis? the limbus fossa ovalis?
septum primum
septum secundum
What creates the AV valves?
endocardial cushions
What does the left common cardinal become?
coronary sinus
What is precardinal anastomosis?
The act of the left precardinal vein anastomosing with the right precardinal vein forming the L. brachiocephalic vein
What creates the ductus venosus?
left umbilical vein and the the right vitelline vein
