- different from palpating the iliopsoas (90/90 position. Palpate 1/3 between ASIS and umbilicus)

- performed at the McBurney’s point
- grasp skin at McBurney’s point and elevate and then release
- positive is increased pain when released

- aka rebound test performed at McBurney’s point.
- press fingers into the point and hold for 15-30 sec and then quickly remove hand.
- positive is pain with removal of hand.
