A

glycated haemoglobin test and this measures the average level of blood sugar over the last few months. It does this by testing the amount of sugar attached to haemoglobin.

high glucose levels in the blood causes changes to conformations of proteins which activates the immune system increasing inflammation (furthering dysbiosis between immune system and bacterium)
