The 704 placard identifies hazards and how many principal categories?

What are they?
Health, flammability, reactivity (instability)
How many different levels are possible?
5 (0-4 with 4 being the Highest, 0= NO HAZARD)
What orientation on the diamond are the categories?
Health (left) Flammability (top) Reactivity (right)
What colors are the categories?
Health (blue) Flammability (red) Reactivity (yellow)
What color is the bottom of the placard and what is it used for?
White. To indicate special hazard or provide additional information
What does an A indicate?
Artisan, or people who live in the occupancy
What does a W indicate?
Do not use water during fire suppression
What does an M indicate?
The presence of combustible metals (aluminum, titanium, magnesium, zirconium)
What do the letters JM indicate?
Jewelry mart
What do the letters FW indicate?
Exempt fireworks (agricultural uses)
What do the letters LW indicate?
Limited water, or the application of water, moisture or smoke can damage the contents of the occupancy (computers, electrical components)
What does a C indicate?
Substances that need to be contained to prevent further damage to the environment

When ever hazardous materials are used, stored, processed in quantities that require a DIV 4 permit Under the Los Angeles fire code or if the combustible material is a metal as described above in M
