Risk Assessment Process
- Identifies hazards
- Analyses risk level
(Likilihood and severity of risk) - Considers who may be harmed
- Evaluates if hazards are controlled

a form of risk assessment
supporting a TBRA,
discussing procedures and findings
with involved seafarers
before starting work.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
used when risks cannot be avoided
or reduced to an acceptable level by safe working practices.
Should be provided at no cost to seafarer.
Permit to work
An organised safety procedure for high risk tasks.
Valid for no more than 24 hrs.
Signed by authorising officer and competent person.

Vessel Familiarisation
Required before assigning duties, includes communication, emergency procedures and location of safety equipment.
